Many Thanks to Paul Kraemer, K0UYA,
for pointing me in the right direction to get my HA-10 going.
Paul suggested there might be a problem with the neutralizing winding.
I took a good close look, and the filament choke (with the uninsulated
neutralizing coil wound around it) had somehow gotten pressed into one of
the screws (grounded to the chassis) on one of the tube sockets. I never saw it until I
really looked close at it. It was hidden from my view at the angle that I
had the amp turned. The filament choke wires are pretty stiff, but at some
point in time something made contact with the choke that pushed it and the
neutralizing coil / winding too close to the screw on the tube socket.
It was shorted to ground near the centerpoint.
I pulled it back into the proper position,
removing the short. and no more high plate current. Thanks Paul!!

Also, thanks again to everyone on this reflector who took the time to help me
out with this problem. I received a lot of valuable input from everyone who
responded. I appreciate it very much.
