[Amps] OT: 4 square query

Carl,

ON4UN's book has plans for a nested set of 160, 80, 40 4 squares using a
tower in the middle - I may be wrong, but I think K1KI built an
implementation of it.

Stock up on those poles!  Remember W6AM?

I currently have a a pair of wires hanging from the guy wires at the 
160' level. They start about 20' out and slope to 12' where the elevated 
radials are attached. Even tho the tower is in the middle as well as 3 
aluminum trailersI still get around 20dB directivity with a simple coax 
cable phasing setup. Cant qualify the gain but they usually bust pileups 
with ease and generated impressive numbers in DX contests.

The poles for the new 4 sq are being set this week and I was thinking if 
I could take advantage of all that long radial wire Id give 80M a shot. 
If it doesnt pan out I have a 100' tower 150' away to use as a support. 
The utility company is doing a major pole upgrade in this town and I can 
get as many of the old ones I want delivered.

Unfortunately Ive misplaced the AO and Eznec diskettes that havent been 
used since a few PC's ago! Rather frustrating.
