Geeeez guys and gals I was just having a little fun. I new it was untrue
from the beginning when I first posted it. I see now that the ARRL( of
which I am a member) has stepped into this trivial subject. A typical
knee jerk reaction in my opinion. Sorry, I hope I didn't offend anyone.

 From many years ago I recall an article in 'RF Design' where 
someone suggested that oxidation on copper (and other conductors) 
makes less difference than might be expected because the higher 
resistance in the oxide causes the current to flow deeper where 
the conductivity is higher.
