He makes some good points, but I think the material and references are 
more than a little outdated.  Even when I worked in industry we used 
pure silver (99.999 pure) plus plating and found no degradation.
OTOH most of the time we used plain old copper.

Either way, it just ain't worth the effort unless you want it to look 
pretty. <:-))
