After careful reflection (and some chain yanking from a couple of folks)
I believe it was the SWAN MKVI that I had. The chap I sold it to is an
SK so it probably got sold off by the estate.

Yes there was a 6M version of the L4 that never made it to production. There was at least 2 prototypes, I knew of at least one that was sold and the buyer said he was going to convert it back to an L4. If you saw a Drake L-6, it was probably the last one in existence.
The prototype would have had a black on brushed aluminum front panel as that was the method used before the silkscreen front panel artwork was released for production.
There was an Eimac AS newsletter that showed how to convert a SWAN pair of 3-400z amp to 6m.

Drake?? You sure you don't mean Swan??
I don't recall Drake every making any sort of 6m amp, at all. The TR-6 ran about 200W PEP output all by itself, though...

At our weekly lunch the other day, talk of 6 Meter Amps and
conversions came up. It reminded me that Drake made a 6
Meter Amp with (IIRC) a pair of 3-500Z's.
I had one of those back in the late 60's and sold it when I
moved into an apartment.
How many of those did Drake produce ? I haven't seen one
listed for sale in many years. Must not have been that many.
Now, who did I sell it to ...
