[Amps] How do you measure HV with reasonable accuracy?

There will be some loading when the meter is paralleled across the  
bottom 1Meg.

Also make the lower resistor out of four 2 watt resistors in series-parallel.

If one of the resistors opens up, you don't want that one to be the  
bottom resistor.

( assuming all you purchase is 1Meg resistors. )

I'm guessing that the bottom resistor may need to be somewhat above  
1Meg to compensate for the meter loading.  Calibrate it by using a  
120vac source and an accurate digital meter across the Simpson. Should  
show 1/10th or 12VAC
