Code allows for 15A outlets to be used on a 20A branch circuit as long as  
there are more than one outlet on the chain.  If a single outlet is  
connected to a 20A circuit and it's the "only" outlet on the circuit, then it  must 
be rated 20A.  At least with 120v branch  circuits.
