Further complicating the choice of a transfer switch for generator/grid 
switching is the fact that generators come with either a floating neutral or 
neutral bonded to frame.  The transfer switch you choose must suit the 
circumstance of the neutral.

In this part of the world, the main breaker switching the load between 
generator and grid MUST be slaved each side so that it is impossible to 
connect the generator side without first disengaging the grid side.  I have 
seen transfer switches for sale by various suppliers which do not have this 
feature-as some have already pointed out, it is optional and hence VERY 
dangerous.
