[Amps] Alpha 76/78 Filter Cap Question

Might have answered my own question, what do you guys think?

I think it's for THERMAL reasons, as the step-start resistors (R1 and 
R2) are mounted vertically right behind that rear cap.

Does that make sense - protection from heat in case the step-start fails 
and those resistors turn into toaster elements?

Just a thought!
