Another amp to consider is the Ameritron ALS-500M.

Since it is solid state, it does not require tuning.  This would be an advantage for a blind ham.  The power is not as great, but it does have an advantage that it could qsy quickly.  

The ALS-500M requires 12 volts, but heavy duty supplies are available and reliable.  Also possible to use a battery and charger.
