Yes, that was my first thought, Allan. I wiggled the plug a few times 
and then checked the mains voltage with my Fluke meter. No such luck. 
The problem appears to be inside the amp.  If I wasn't sick with a cold, 
I'd have the thing on the bench and apart already :-)
