[Amps] Choosing a Plate Transformer

Ok, then i'm roughly in that sweet spot at 2400v. If you have any pictures of the custom heatsinks you used i would like to see those. I have seen a few other options on the net, including one that was a rather large aluminum heatsink with a fan mounted directly to it... The best i can figure is that works because its a plastic housing on the fan, but that would be scary to have low voltage in such a close proximity to the anode voltage.

I have a tuned input, built it using the MFJ analyzer and some guidlines online showing what coil size and number of turns i needed, etc. Its a 6M amp based off the YU1AW design and adapted slightly to the info others provided that made slight improvements.

Go here if you want to see pictures of it.

I'm thinking about building a 2M amp now using the same tube, but it won't likely be using a FL-2100B as a the donor amp for construction. I had thought about squeezing two tubes into the FL-2100B chasis but then i would have needed a different power supply to handle the plate current needed.

Every little bit of info helps, it sure is becoming a fun journey to learn all this!
