No, they are a flat strap from a half to one inch wide with a fairly 
tight bend on the one end (Like a flat J-bolt that's been squashed) with 
a threaded rod or bolt silver soldered, brazed, or welded to the other 
end.  I think Carl did a good job of describing how to make one.
