[Amps] Anyone ever used or owned a HLF-2500 Gates Amp?

Hi Jack,

Yes I use one. I drive it with 50mW to full output.
So far not any problem.
Disadvantage is that bandchanges take longer then with a ham amplifier.
Mine is sitting on one band most of the time and is not in the shack
(noise).

It uses a 4cx3000A tube.
It uses a 6CL6 input amplifier and a 4cx250B driver amp.
Has anyone owned one of these and did they have any problems that I should
know about. I found one but not sure if it is are worth messing with. I
think you can drive the amp with milliwatts which is strange for a large amp
that outputs 2500+. Just wonder if they are any good and any problems with
them.
