[Amps] for 2KL

I shopped for 2 KL for years and now have 3.  Those who own them will not let go.  It is a very unique design in heat handling, etc. and very too bad to have it withdrawn from production at any time, now so many yrs ago.
Does anyone have a reason  other than just "moving on" to something different????  That is, is there something in the IC-2KL that would strongly motivate a company to stop making it?????    Tnx,  73
