I never cease to me impressed by the powers of Mr Measures.  The late Bill Shankly (one of the greatest soccer managers of his generation - for the benefit of the uneducated) described one of his players as 'being able to start a fight in an empty room' - and Rich can start an argument without even being on the AMPs group anymore :-)

Sorry, Carl, that isn't correct: Measures was not banned for his 
theories (wrong and tiresome though they were).

He was actually banned for bad *behavior*, which was tolerated far 
longer on AMPS than it would have been on many other reflectors.

The archives include some very ugly episodes which drove many readers 
away from AMPS, and they have never come back.
