In talks on HV Power Supplies, I pass around a back-to-back MHV adapter 
with MHV plugged into one side, BNC into the other. Nothing beats 
hands-on learning.

The only fool required was the one who designed MHV.  MHV plugs cannot 
be inserted into BNC jacks, but the MHV jack does allow insertion of a 
BNC plug. Duh...
