Question to the machinists on this list:

I am considering doing some basic sheet metal bending/braking for making the
PSU and RF deck cabinets on my GS35B linear from scratch. I have seen the
nice work of Hank on his page amp:
http://www.wv7u.com/yc156amp/pictures/procav2.jpg I am attempting something
much simpler than Hanks work, but the picture is just to illustrate the
general technique I am looking to use. Hank has made most the pieces of his
cabinet from sheet metal, it looks like. I would like to bend "lips" like
the ones on Hanks amp internal parts.
This would enable me to screw the parts together without using too much
angle stock. Another picture that illustrates the concept:

Question: what aluminum alloy is the easiest to use on a hobby sheetmetal
brake? (I have on earlier projects used some scrap material I picked up
cheap that had unknown properties. However this material was way to hard and
therefore very difficult to use). I am going to buy a couple of large sheets
for this and later projects so it would be worth the time to do a little
research.

I have seen an aluminium alloy guide here
http://www.onlinemetals.com/aluminumguide.cfm but it doesn't help me much.

Question: what aluminum alloy do you use / would you recommend for general
purpose hobby / ham radio use? The material should be soft enough to be used
on a general hobby / home ship metal brake.
