Generally speaking it isn't recommended because it puts the ct at half dc 
voltage and the transformer may have been designed for ct to be grounded.
That caution issued I'm sure many of us have done it anyway and the 
transformer survived

Kenyon model s13342.
dual primary, center tap sec. 1400-0-1400.
any idea if it is O.K. to use this at full voltage (2800) in a full wave 
bridge power supply?
If I had to guess, I would say this transformer is 60 to 70 years old, my 
fear is that the insulation may not handle the higher voltage across the 
secondary if hooked up this way.
Any Ideas?
