Chinese 572B's are rarely gettered sufficiently and will arc at 2400V in a 
SB-200 even in standby at times.

 I always getter them before using. OTOH even 1960's era Cetrons are fine.

Not the SB-200 or SB-201, those amplifiers use 572B tubes. The SB-220 and 
SB-221 use 3-500Z tubes.

But what if they arc over? Isn't that going to do some serious damage to the 
SB200?
If you don't getter them, how about at LEAST put a resistor in series with 
the B+ to limit the current.
A bad tube will still arc (snap) won't it?
