When it comes to a total capacitance that is optimum in a power supply  
filter the law of diminishing returns comes into play.  Just like with  radials 
on a vertical.  To my knowledge once you go beyond 38uf in a PS  filter, 
adding much more makes very little difference.  Once you hit 38uf,  the next 
break is much more for little difference.
