Yes, really! And you cant compare a place that has been gone for 50 years 
with present day NYC.
I spent many a wonderful day in the mid to late 50's browsing Radio Row for 
useful bargains to build with. Radio Row was maybe 20% goodies and 80% pure 
junk.

OTOH the so called radio fleamarket in current day Moscow is filled with the 
usual computer and audio junk while the good RF stuff is elsewhere in shops 
with high prices. My #2 son, a USAF Major who speaks fluent Russian and 
German, has been there several times looking for items that interst himself 
and me. The better prices are in the Baltics and Ukraine and the bargains 
are in places such as Baku where he travels to also in his duties as a 
military liasion. Shipping then to the US thru embassy APO's is the same 
cost as shipping from NYC for me which is Zone 2.

Yes, Ive been to the TRW swapfest a few times but that is not the same as a 
modern commercial row such as in Hong Kong. Boston has the monthly MIT 
fleamarket which can be quite interesting at times.
