Which brings to mind a related question:
What's the latest thinking about using silver-bearing
solder in amp tank circuits? In the US, Radio Shack
sells 62/36/2% tin/lead/silver solder for $7 USD for
a 1.5 oz roll. One roll will do most tank circuits, so
it isn't terribly expensive, relatively speaking.
Is 2% enough silver to make a significant difference
in the ability to withstand thermal cycling and
vibration?

Thanks,
