[Amps] Henry 2k Classic HV PS from Choke to Capacitor?

I think my choke in my Henry 2k opened up this morning.  I wanted to know if anyone has removed the choke input of a Henry 2K and just replaced it with a capacitor input system?  I have a few extra WD7S HV Power Supply boards here and was going to build one of those up to replace the original set-up.
