[Amps] High voltage rectifier / capacitor board material?

Hello all,

Abt 25 years ago, I used HDPE for a coil form/ support for my HB 8877 amp.  I notched the edge to control the pitch of the coil.  Worked out nicely.

Several months ago, it caught fire during a RTTY contest.  It worked fine for 25 years on CW.  (I'm new to RTTY contesting)

The stuff burned very similar to the way a parafin candle burns with a yellow, soot producing small flame.  

It was more like one of those 'trick' candles, as I just couldn't blow it out thru the air exit grill.  I had to remove abt 50 4-40 flat head screws in our to remove the cover and put out the fire.

Had to laugh.  It was like the 'monkey and the football'.
