Krish,

There are still plenty of GU-74Bs around. Yes, the price is higher than
before, but it's still cheaper than 3CX800A. I see no cheaper or more
popular tube that could be easy transplanted there.

Actually it's done by the manufacturer - ACOM 1500 is same as 1000, but uses
4CX1000A.

If GU-74B scares you, the best move is selling the 1000 and buying 1500.
