"I have been running a Dentron MLA 2500, modified this way, for about three years (Not the 
QSK). with absolutely no problems.  My concern with this mod was mounting the tube 
horizontally.  This has not been an issue, up to this point.  Comments?

I have also been using an MLA2500 modified with a horizontally mounted 3CX800A7 for
over 10 years. It works fine - and the tube cost me $100 as although it was new it had
been dropped and has a dented plate! Don't know about the other types of amplifiers mentioned.
