Which brings up the question could the existing tap be shortened and/or
made wider to reduce the L?

To lower the inductance, the turns need to be farther apart. ?However,
that will affect the other bands as well. ?It would be better to move the
15-meter tap so that less turns are selected. ?I would start with 1-turn less.

## 1 turn is probably way too much. Try just one quarter of a turn.
You are correct though. If you spread the coil further apart, you will lower
the uh on 160-20m as well. 160-30 m is no big deal, but
it will cause an increase in loaded Q on 20m. Trying to shift a tap
just a quarter or half a turn is not always easy some times. But it can
be done...use longer cu strap for the tap....and if its also wider, you wont
get any increase in uh caused by the tap.
