[Amps] Clipperton-L question

Thanks guys for the input.

I looked at the switch and it didn't have any obvious problems but I figured
a better inspection is required.

Disconnecting the transformer leads was on my list as well. A new
transformer is about $300 unless I can find a used one that still works. It
also looks like a bear to get out.

The filter caps are only a couple years old which doesn't guarantee that
they are still good of course. I had a Henry 1KD5 years ago that blew a cap
within a year. A bit more spectacular than this one. The Henry arced through
a 0.25 inch phenolic board among other things and didn't blow a fuse!

Since I had replaced the power supply board I thought maybe there was a wire
I didn't get on correctly and when I turned the switch it finally moved
enough to short or arc. I didn't see any obvious arc sites or wires out of
place which is why I sacrificed another fuse.

Id check the SSB/CW switch carefully for arcing to a metal part. Common
problem with an underated switch.
