You need to ensure that the neutral is not earthed at any time by the amplifier, too. Safety requirements would dictate double insulation. As Leigh says the myriad legal requirements for commercially available stuff now make proper isolated PSUs attractive, even when said PSU is a switcher with a high frequency transformer.
