Hi Paul,

You might want to find details on the 'fast' fuses intended for protecting semiconductors - if that isn't an oxymoron. (I know any semiconductor will automatically blow to maximise damage in other parts of the circuit!) They may well use a fuse link of tin: for a given conductor size, tin has the lowest fusing current and copper one of the highest.
