[Amps] transistor mounting question

If at all possible, it's better not to tamper with the transistor's cases.
I've seen cases of chips cracking inside from machining stresses. Would be
easier and safer to rework the heatsink. This is from my experience at
Elisra, where we were using lots of them /

Subject: [Amps] transistor mounting question

All, I am attempting to mount a new power module on an existing heat sink.
The transistor mounting holes to not quite line up. Is it practical to
machine the holes about 1/16 inch without destroying the transistor. The
transistor is an ST TH430 NPN.

The alternative is to 'move' the entire module on the heat sink and drill
and retap all the mounting holes.
