All the SS amp talk reminds me of a project I have here I am not going to 
finish. When completed you will have a rugged 1KW+  output amp 1.8-30 megs, 
at a price you could not build or buy a tube amp for.

BLF178XR FET rated at 1200 Watts output Continous or 1400 Watts Peak. Will 
withstand a SWR of 65:1!
