I was doing some characterization of a SB220 transformer for a 1KW RTTY amp 
build a few years back.  The SB220 transformer did not make the cut, in fact 
the SB200 transformer was nearly bullet-proof by comparison.  The SB220 
transformer I had here may have been a walking-wounded sample.  Or maybe 
that's the way they were built.  But I can say that the SB220 transformer 
definitely makes a pretty cool bang when it goes up.  And generates lots and 
lots of smoke.

1,300 Watts out at ~ 65% efficiency
equates to 2,000 Watts input.

Better save your nickels for that new
power xfmr you will soon need !!

I have heard these tales before of
folks claiming upwards of 1,500 Watts
out on an SB-220.

I file them away along with the photo's
I took of the Loch Ness Monster.
