I think it is true, but there is semantics involved here.

Whatever "tuning" is needed is for the antenna, not the amplifier. If
the antenna itself is broadbanded, no tuning is required at all. 

 Harmonic filters do need to be switched in and out depending on the
band, but they don't need "tuning".
