Hi Jim

 Just to let you know they used three phase alt back in the late 
sixties. I am not sure how early in the sixties, as this was in 69.

Setup a few AC power sources with them back then for construction power
from the truck back then.

In the seventies they sold the same type of setup in a kit. Now people
just buy an inverter.
