Re Icom pw-1's, the (lack) of reliability of the auto tuner was what 
kept me away from buying one.

I am a fan of Icom gear, but not that of breaking my budget to support 
the onshore repair facility and the shipping guy.

Bought the Ameritron Al-82, two dependable 3-500's, manual tune, can get 
most of my money back considering what I paid for it a few years back

The Yaesu Quadra, OTH, has been a overlooked but dependable SS amp for 
quite a while now.
