Hey Kevin:  I disagree with your comment. I have two hf amps using the 8877 and they both operate very quietly without use of humongous blower. One of them is the Viewstar PT-3000A and other one is the alpha 9500.

##  worse case for a tube amp is always 10m, where tank eff is down to 50%. For 1.5 kw out, you require  3 kw dc input..and  1.5 kw anode diss.  Which is all a 8877  is rated at.  As long as the blower meets min 8877 specs, the tube should be ok,
Dunno about the rest of the amp, like any torroids, if used, Pi-L tank, etc, etc.
