However at some point all new Al-1200 and Al-82 amps came through with these changes AFAIK....these mods were put in place to increase the efficiency of the tuned input networks.  I don't know how much of an improvement it really is in the finale analysis.  However, you can easily identify if YOUR amp is of the vintage where the change was made.  Just look at the side wall up by the zener diodes where the input coax terminal strip is.  If you see two coax cables coming from the input box then you have the updated amplifier. If your Al-1200 or 82 has only one coax from the input then it is an earlier version without this change.  NOTE:THIS DOES NOT PERTAIN TO THE AL-1500 !!!!!!

There is a hand-drawn input circuit change on the Ameritron website.

It is undated and doesn't state which amp it applies to. Anyone have

any info?
