He doesn?t  quite hit the needle to the end, but good enough for the drive level involved.   Loads of pre-sets etc.   Appears to use a motor driven vac cap and mating roller.
The ....load cap appears to be a mess of vac relay switched fixed caps. 

Weighs 235 lbs.   $10K.   Bargain vs some of these megabuck SS amps.
