I didn't say it was. At best, it is ion free. If it is distilled, then it contains water and anything else that was in the distilled solution that has a vapor pressure greater than water.

   De ionized water is NOT mineral free, silicates in de ionized water can coat the insides of what ever is being cooled, thermally insulating the metal.
