The 8877 has never been on the rebuild list. The smallest tube in that power 
range is the 3CX1000A7 which can be considered as what the 8877 should have 
been.

###  Years ago, the  3CX-3000A7 was a measly $50.00  more than a 8877.
The 3x3 can be rebuilt till hell freezes over.  Econco still rebuilds the 3x3....
as long as its an eimac.  The svetlana tubes can not be rebuilt,  several different
tube rebuilders have tried..and all failed. 

##  Story I got was the 8877  has better IMD than the 3CX-1000A7.
