The GSB-201 has the choke on the - side of the transformer, rather than the positive side. This is the same either way. The negative side has less voltage to ground. The voltage says 1500 volts, which is after the choke. With the choke in series with the supply it will have about 100 volts less than the actual transformer voltage which is about 1600 volts.

New supplies do not use the choke. They use more capacitance instead (which the Ameritron does. However, this is a capacitor input power supply rather than a choke input power supply, and the voltage ends up 1.414 time the transformer high voltage. The higher voltage will be handled by the tubes, but the variable capacitors may not handle it. Also, the higher voltage will also mean the taps on the output transformer will need to change for the Q to be right.

To end up with 1500 dc voltage, you would need a transformer that reads about 1060 volts, if you use capacitor input. If you use the choke you would need about 1600 volts.
