[Amps] Alpha 86 / 89 Plate RFC

The Alpha 86 and 89 use a Home brew relay/Flapper scheme in HV path to short
out part of HV Plate choke 

 

RF Parts sells RFC that all indications can replace the existing choke and
remove the flapper

Has anyone changed out the plate choke to eliminate the shorting flapper? 

 

Saw article where author rolled his own and removed the flapper
