[Amps] Vacuum Relay Question

I think that the point was that the expensive vacuum relay could be
replaced by a much cheaper open frame relay arrangement in this
application, where high impedance/voltage is not in the equation.
Tens of dollars versus hundreds of dollars makes good sense when the
lightning comes to town.
