[Amps] Swan Mark 1 for AM Service

I agree. The Mark II is much beefier with a separate power supply and separate cooling fan for the supply.

I've replaced three transformers in MK I units, way back when they were pretty new (1970s timeframe) and they failed in normal service.

I doubt a MK I can handle more than 100W carrier power on AM...if that...and don't forget to "tune up" at the PEP crest level power.

That is a pretty wimpy fan and transformer I that amp and AM will be tough on it.  I’d be really careful.

Can the Swan Mark 1 amplifier be used for AM.  No mention of it in the manual.  Would definitely have to use the CW voltage setting I believe.  I’m new to AM but want to try it just for the heck of it.

Mine has a new power transformer and rebuilt power supply.  Still has original 3-400Z tubes in it with full output.
