[Amps] Amp Pricing(??)

Eimac made awesome 3cx800 and 8877 tubes.  They rarely go bad, they just slowly get weak over a long period of time.  They put out good power for many years. Chinese versions are just not at that level.

Until recently, I've used 8877s and 3CX800s for 40+ years and never lost one.

Rob nailed it. Stick with old school 3-500Z amps.  They are very easy to
maintain, and easy to modify and upgrade.  Stay away from megabuck tubes
like 8877, 3CX-800's etc. Both have floozy grids, and require grid
overcurrent protection.  I would stay away from russian tetrodes and
triodes as well.
