The WE 300B sells for $699.00 ea!  I'm afraid our RF tubes would be way out of reach for the average ham.

In case someone hasn't seen this. Western Electric is looking to get back into the domestic tube market, and they are looking into what tubes to produce. You can see more and make suggestions here:

Unfortunately this explorative initiative here is skewed entirely towards the mainstream audiophile tube market?sadly not the ham radio transmitting tube market for 3-500Z, 572B, 811A, 3CX800A7, 3CX1500A7/ 8877, 4CX1000A, 4CX1500B, etc  ?

Reconstituting the tooling, materials, and knowhow to produce these Tx tubes to the former Eimac quality standard would be an overreaching bridge too far?.

Thanks Gary

I wrote in comment section 3-500z RF tube would be excellent
consideration.  My guess they are doing glass type tubes

Summed it up beautifully there Leigh.

I clicked the link and my heart sank in the same way.

The reason, of course, is that the audio people seem to love the idea of
paying premium prices, whereas we hams have a different mindset.

I'm a retired audio professional. It's not "audio people," it's the
"high futility" lunatic fringe.
