[Amps] Plate transformer rewind

I second the notion to investigate a motor rewind shop. Is the current transformer open, shorted, or?
If you are lucky, they may be able to repair it. I had a Henry unit that was arcing to the core on the exterior. 
They were able to assess, reinsulate and then dip/bake it for a lot less than a new one would have cost.

If rewinding is the only remedy, plan on spending about what a new one would cost if available. Labor, and copper pricing
has gone crazy like everything else.
