It's a simple matter of Ohm's law.  If the plate current doesn't
change then of course the anode Z changes if the voltage changes.  The
number of electrodes in the tube doesn't matter.

How did you connect the resistor?  You don't have to remove the tube
when you do this.  Are you a ham?  What is your callsign?
